Real Tennis Charity Event6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
REAL TENNIS - THE GUINESS WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT – FOR CHARITY
Starting at 6pm Friday on May 10th 2013; Prested Hall real tennis players Will Stephens and Richard Ramjane are attempting to set a substantial Guinness World Record for playing real tennis doubles for as long as possible.
They are raising funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital (Registered Charity No: 235825) to say thank you for saving the life, a few years ago, of one of Richard’s twin sons, Fin.
The other twin, Zac, won the national under 12s real tennis championship last year, and the two will be the penultimate pair to face Richard and Will.
Waiting in the wings for the final match, when exhaustion has taken over (probably Saturday evening) will be the two real tennis world champions: local girl and former Prested star pupil Claire Vigrass, and the magnificent Rob Fahey, who is, extraordinarily, in his 20th year as world champion, a reign that is wholly unprecedented and will almost certainly never be repeated.
For his part, Will holds the Guiness world record, which he set 3 years ago, for playing singles.
Do come along and support this wonderful event. There will be raffles and other fundraising activities in the evening of Saturday 11th May.
